I said there was a runner up game as well, but I think I was mistaken. The final of the tournament then does NOT count towards the regular season. These also count towards the regular season. While the quarter-finals and semi-finals are being played, the remaining 22 teams then play games against each other. These games also count towards the regular season. The top team from each group, plus two extra 'wild card' teams then play a single elimination game quarter-finals and semi-finals.
Each team plays the other 4 teams in their group. OK so the NBA (30 teams) divides everyone into 6 groups of 5 teams.
